Q. Do classes offer certification credit?
A. All LLBRV classes are eligible for non-credit certificates of participation through Iowa Central Community College.
Some classes are approved for teacher recertification credits through Northern Prairie Area Education Agency and are indicated as such on the website description of the class. Costs for credit are extra beyond the tuition price of the class and are collected independently of the on-line registration. You must indicate interest in the recertification option for a class via email at email@example.com prior to class.
Some classes are also approved for graduate credit through Drake University and are indicated as such on the website description of the class. Prior arrangements with LLBRV must be made through firstname.lastname@example.org and payment for credit will be collected separately beyond the tuition price of the class.
Q. Can I receive continuing education credits?
Students may register for Individual Projects (Art 929) college credit through Iowa Central Community College by creating a personalized learning plan. An individualized syllabus will be developed in consultation with experienced professional faculty. To register for this credit, you must request an application for Individual Project form (available from Legacy Learning (888-832-0012) or the Iowa Central Humanities Department (515-574-1191) or download the form here.
You may combine workshop opportunities to create your unique plan. Art credits require 30 hours of commitment for each credit. This will be accomplished through class activities, creative components and learning opportunities such as museum visits and/or research.
Please contact Maureen Seamonds at 515-835-0497 at least two weeks in advance of your class to discuss your goals and objectives for this learning activity and develop the syllabus that will document the conditions for your project. The Individual Project form must be submitted to the Dean and Director of Student Records with an attached syllabus and approved before the start of class.
